Ship bollard & tow point testing

Testing where others cannot

What we do

Attis provide a Lloyd's Register validated service for the survey and testing of ships’ bollards and towing points. The testing methodology we use is non-destructive, non-operationally impactive, and without the need for heavy or cumbersome test equipment. The test is, in effect, a combination of both the land bollard and deck test and measures the towing point capacity on the ship without assumptions.

How it benefits you

There are not many ways to physically and accurately test ships’ bollards and towing points without utilizing large amounts of stored energy and subsequent modelling requires original design data and numerous measurements. Non-destructive testing provides a swift, safe, and accurate way to understand actual capacities. The results are provided as safe working loads (SWLs) for the bollard or towing point enabling the understanding of vessel mooring or towing capability.
