Health & Safety

Accident investigation

Regardless of how effective your provision of health and safety is, accidents unfortunately will still happen. Although there is no direct law requiring them to be investigated, employers are required to review their health and safety arrangements - and investigating the causes of accidents is an important part of that review process. A robust and properly-documented investigation should always aid any organization to improve its health and safety provision, as well as helping to prevent further incidents from becoming more serious. Finding the cause of problems is not about apportioning blame, but about developing a positive culture where safety is ingrained at all levels.

Safety assessment

All safety systems generate documentation Safety tours, assessments and audits are effective tools in helping to ensure that the arrangements for health and safety are performing in the way they were intended. Ensuring the resilience of policies, processes, and procedures is vital to maintaining effective risk management.

Our auditors are adept at conducting exactly the size and type of assessment that your business requires, building trust and collaboration with your team to identify any issues before they become a risk to your business.– it is the quality and quantity of this documentation that is sometimes the issue. Too much paperwork, or long unwieldy documents can often be as problematic as having no paperwork at all. We have designed documents for almost every eventuality, and incorporate wherever possible any existing template you might use to make the transition seamless. Safety documentation should be appropriate for the reader in order to be safe, and safety is what we do.

CODA audits

Developed and published by us, the CODA system of auditing safety is incisive, far-ranging, and highly effective. It goes beyond the obvious and examines the evidence behind documents, processes, and procedures to ensure that your safety system is resilient to almost any failure.

CODA is a way we can test the resilience of safety systems to a much higher degree than normal auditing methodologies.

Safety Management

Much is made of the ‘safety culture’ that organizations should have in place. But what does that mean in real terms? Just believing it exists is not sufficient.

Attis have wide experience at implementing safety and safety-critical management in a range of industries, including the military, developing safe systems of work that are intrinsic to the operation, not appended to it.
