Portsmouth Naval Base – Maritime asset testing

Bollard testing

Attis have delivered the final milestone in a 15 month-long project for KBS Maritime. The project, to survey and test almost 2,300 mooring assets on HM Naval Base Portsmouth, has seen our engineers test:

  • 717 bollards
  • 234 fairleads
  • 1,341 mooring rings
  • Across 41 berths and jetties.

During this time we took over 16,000 point locations which were then uploaded to CAD, uniquely identifying each asset. We developed a bespoke reporting system especially for this project, containing the survey results, test data, mooring information and repair and remediation recommendations. We recommended that the ‘asset on a page’ was electronically attached to the CAD and these recommendations now form part of the Naval Base’s asset management and repair strategy for all the mooring assets.

During the 15 month project, no operations were interrupted and our engineers seamlessly reacted to emerging test requirements from the client. Each project milestone was delivered on or before time and there was no variation to the original tendered cost or delivery timeframe.

A major, critical project delivered on time and on cost without interruption or deviation. If you require advice without limits and service without compromise, contact us.

"It has been a pleasure working with the Attis team who consistently demonstrated their attention to detail and ability to adapt. Working in an active waterfront environment is not always easy, especially when operations can change schedules at a moment's notice. Attis were able to rise to this challenge and deliver outputs without delay."
